And they are not good. 6 to 8 range. I had such hopes for this game and Obsidian, you've let me down again, as you have so many times before. Please get your shit together for Fallout: New Vegas cuz I really want a good, new, non-retarded Fallout game (I'm glaring at you, Betheseda). Review: http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/xbox-360/2010/05/27/alpha-protocol-review/1Gamestop's review which clocked in at a 6 suspiciously vanished quite quickly after going up. Man, those guys aren't even trying to not be corrupt anymore.

That sucks. I was looking forward to sinking this weekend into the game. I went to buy it yesterday and the shop didn't even order any copies in.

just read that bit tech review, thanks gram, and boy it seems to be riddled with problems ... what have obsidian done previously? should we feel disappointed with their drop in quality?
anyway, as with all reviews i'll take it with a grain of salt and form my own opinion after play

It seems the rule about delays being bad news is yet to be broken. Obsidian did KOTOR2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 previously.
I imagine it'll hit the bargain bins soon enough.

The thing about Obsidian Entertainment is not what they have done, but what they could have; their core staff is largely made up of oldies from Interplay and great thing were expected of them. Unfortunately, they've largely released half brilliant, half unfinished messes. With each game they've said they weren't given enough time/budget which, given the bottom line executive decisions made in the gaming industry, is very common. But EVERY time? Eh...
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: First half good, second half shaky, ending non-existent. Neverwinter Nights 2: Solid, but boring. Tried three times to beat it, failed every time. A poor successor to Neverwinter Nights 1 and not embraced by the online community even a fraction as much. NwN 2 Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir: Probably their best offerings so far in terms of sheer quality and polish. Mask of the Betrayer is easily one of the best rpgs released recently and it's only a shame it came in the form of an expansion pack. Storm of Zehir was an extremely well made hack'n'slash expansion, but well made mediocrity still peaks out pretty quick. Alpha Protocol: Apparently filled with bugs and about as polished as a sheet of sand paper.

The game is ugly. The Dialogue tree is uninspired. And it plays like an old action game on the dreamcast.

I tried to get into it for a couple of hours, but in the end I just couldn't justify playing a game I only barely liked. I can't believe that this game was in developement for so long, yet came out so half baked.

Wow. Destructoid gave it a 2 out of 10. Given how obviously shitty the game has turned out to be, I'm a little surprised they gave out early copies for review. Seems like somebody totally out of touch must have made that decision.

the Destructoid reviewer is a known joker. Eurogamer gave it 7/10, and I'm inclined to agree. Not a game to buy on impulse, as Trouble did..

I'm thinking of playing through this again, but I doubt my decisions will influence level structure.

Yes! Wasn't a bad game really, but Obsidian aren't that renowned for polishing their games, with AP being the worst case scenario.
