Howdy, when I play AVI files recently in my VLC Player it suffers from numerous hiccups, small pauses, I was wondering how I could eliminate this. I have already tried deleting and reinstalling the program with no success.

Hmhm... did you try to install the latest codec pack? Try:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

But it seems to me like your computer is clogged with huge registry instead Cheesy Try cleaning it a bit with some software. I recommend TuneUp Utilities 2009

Why don't you try some other mdia player where it does not hiccup?

Yeah, I never really understood the fuzz around VLC.
In Windows I always run MPC (Media Player Classic) and in Linux - Mplayer.

First i'd like to recommend CCCP codec pack, its really really good http://cccp-project.net/

Second if vlc still struggles after you update it to the latest version. make sure your computer is up to date. Smiley
