Still excited Lucasarts is also releasing a special edition version of the first game: http://www.lucasarts.com/games/monkeyisland/Gonna have voices and enhanced graphics... Although that sounds vile to begin with, the way they are doing it is actually good! |

I'm not excited.
As for the re-release of the classic game - even more pointless. Just have a look at some of the closeups of the characters. For instance the closeup of Elaine and Guybrush at the end of the game, while watching fireworks - I always thought that screen was one of the most beautiful ones among classic games (in the original PC / AMIGA game). And have a look on the "enhanched one". They look like idiots... Overally, Guybrush looks like some surfing dude... kind of like new school Disney cartoons...

I think they are doing it quite tastefully actually, and quite in-keeping with the theme of monkey island. It looks like you will be able to interchange the graphics throughout the course of the game with the touch of a button too, as they are literally putting the original game as the basis and overlaying the touched up graphics on top. So you could still play the original graphics, but with talkie. I think it is a cool idea and a nice way to introduce the magic of monkey island to a new generation. You're all just a bunch of foagies  |

I never really cared for the 3d versions of the monkey island series
but the enhanced version of the 1st one should be awesome
