The media are run by a bunch of nitwits it seems. Somehow they failed to mention today's test was preliminary to the real thing in October. Whenever you do something stupid bask in the pleasure knowing there are billions of people stupider than you yet!

Access, on the 10th, they're only sending particles in one direction so there should be no collisions. It's the collisions that are coming in October that are being dragged through the courts. They never said the collision would happen today!!! They said that they would be sending particles in one direction only and nothing else. Phake, you should learn to read  |

No, its not. The media said they were turning it on today, they also explained it was to send particles in one direction only. Who are the most people who thought it was going to be more than that?

It was pretty clearly stated, pretty much everywhere, that this was just a test run. People despair over what they want to despair over, and get their knickers in a fuzz for anything and less. Hell, I had to remind people several times that the world won't end till october at the soonest, and still...
Meh. No, "media" isn't stupid, and "media" isn't scaring people: People are managing both perfectly well by themselves.

Ok, so BBC News at 10pm just reported effectively that they started the collisions today... and made no mention that it was just a one way proton stream!
Phake, I concede that there are some media outlets that do not appear to be reporting the event to the full. The written version on the BBC is acurrate though.

I was just about to defend Phake, but it seems Hali confirmed what he said.
The media are stupid, they were telling people morning on the radio that 'the end of the world was in an hour', etc...
When I got to work people were talking about it too. I was trying to tell them that they're only sending it one way and it would be 30 days until collisions start, but people hear what they want to hear I guess... Why would they believe me over BBC news?
