I know this has been done before, and failed miserably... But how about setting up some kind of BHL IRC channel or chat room?
These days with our 'always on' internet connections, it might actually work?
What does you's thinks?

ok i have setup a channel: irc://irc.quakenet.org/BHL Please go there and chat  Even if you're not chatting, please remain idle there to get the channel established nicely |

yus, if u use firefox, just install the 'chatzilla' plugin and go to irc://irc.quakenet.org/BHL Come one guys, get on there... even if ur not currently chatting at least idle in the channel to keep it somewhat alive |

I logged in somehow but I don't understand how it's meant to work. Plus there aren't enough users who would be online and wanting to talk all at the same time anyway.

It would work if people would give it a chance... People just need to hang around in there rather than coming in and closing it when they see no one is there... I think if enough people stayed in there for a while, then more people might stay in there... If people keep coming in and seeing no one else is there and then leaving, then no one will ever be there...
Plus, an IRC channel/applet on this website might be useful for the community when the site is relaunched!
Would it really hurt for people to give this thing a chance?

Its bulky and ugly, plus it doesn't flash or make a noise when a new message is sent. It's easier to have a mass chat through a msn window  |

One again I got up in the morning, look at the channel, and see that several people had been joining, and then quitting straight away, sometimes only minutes apart from each other... seriously, if no one is there, how is anyone going to be there? If that makes sense |
