So, how about a thread in which we post about the current game we are playing and our current position? Here's where I am now:
Call of Duty 2
I thought I better play this at some point, seeing as how I loved the original. Upon playing it, it seems more of an expansion to the first game with more limitations (ie, limited save game functions - an annoyance!). I have just got to the Stalingrad missions, and its pretty fun to be playing FPS again!

Didn't even the original COD have that too? Speaking of which - the original is my favorite, definitely. I remember that first meeting with a German tank, where you needed to dodge its machine gun, throwing yourself behind that car wreck (and that terrible sound of bullets hitting the wreck) on the middle of the road, to be able to get over the road and get the Panser-faust in the nearby building. Then the part of the game where you had to defend that bridge. I remember the stress, the hurry...the reflexes...hah...I remember when I was in the trench just in front of the bunker near the bridge, my machine gun got empty just as a German showed up in front of me - I managed to pull out my .45 and waste the fucker just before he jumped in the trench... ahhh...the memories...

Seems I'm the only who one who finished COD4 here.. For one I think the endlessly spawning enemies is an old hat concept, and the storyline is hilariously bad. In retrospect however COD did improve on the then-boring MOH formula, but the series is more of a cash cow nowadays.
What am I playing now? I am done with Gears of War, which is a terrible PC conversion (no idea how it got 87% on average, reviewers must have been playing code that consumers didn't have access to!). I'm currently at the peak of disappointment regarding gaming in general, but I'll be picking Sega's Universe at War: Earth Assault next.

City of Heroes, just started a new Gravity Controller. Also been playing an Archer. In Fire Pro Wrestling Returns I have been creating a roster based on the guys I used to work with. The game kicks so much fucking ass.

Gothic 3
I am a great fan of these games, but initially I was a bit underwhelmed by this edition. The grapics did not seem that much better from 2 despite the hefty rise in requirements, and the gameplay seemed just the same as before with few new innovations. Also, I couldn't get past my guy, such a powerful fighter from the previous game back to an average joe after just a long sea voyage.
But things are improving and I'm getting into it and looking forward to several good play session during the Christmas holidays. And I have a few other games that I have left unplayed and sither become stuck or lost interest and may return to it after I finish Gothic.

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the fact this thread is a direct rip off of one of the biggest threads in the history of these forums Sounds like everyone is playing lots of games at the moment! I would be interested to see what City of Heroes is like to play too!

Anom, I was going to say something, but I thought you'd been such a fine job at posting 'new' stuff I'd let you off What am I playing? Well it's a mixture between spider solitaire, and Alchemy by popcap. I haven't got as far as MS Pinball but that's only a matter of time. Sometimes I allow myself a play on Sims2 and Civ3. On Civ3 I have several games running, I tend to only have 'chieftan' as the difficulty setting because I've got no hope otherwise. On Sims 2, I haven't played it for a while but I'm getting Pets for Christmas so that should be excellent. I've also just got the Kings Quest and Space Quest sets, but I've not got any time to play them, so they're going to be sitting on a shelf for a while before I can commit some time to working out what word commands you're meant to use to get things to move anywhere. Exciting isn't it?

Hali, gtfo kindly Anyhoo.. I want a decent RTS. SupComm is too cumbersome, StarCraft is too tank-rush-minded, C&C is too basic, Total War is too advanced.. I'm hard to please. To be on topic, I'm on the verge of finishing Sonic Rush Adventure, which, like its predecessor, is one of the best post-Megadrive Sonic games. I also started playing Advance Wars DS, and while the gameplay is laughably basic, it has a certain charm to it so I can't resist.
