..with the "indefinite postponement" of SiN episodes. Apparently for the vast majority of genres episodic content just doesn't work. Sam & Max on the other hand Telltale has managed to consistently deliver decent writing and entertaining gameplay in small doses, which is exactly what the doctor ordered. As for Valve and their hyped episodic HL2, well they've been expecting different results I'm sure but the strength of the brand alone will guarantee sales even if they keep delaying and delaying like they love to.

Episodic gaming is here to stay, but most publishers will continue to adopt the tried and tested expansion/add-on strategy which has proven successful for the past 15 years.

Episodic content only works if it has merits as a franchise. Eventually it will open up for lots of other areas but im not convinced anything but franchises will work. Warcraft, Sam and Max, Half-Life, Mario, Star Wars things like this are a possibility.
