You think THAT'S wrong? Remember boyband Hanson?
I remember a lot of confused teenage minds! Hell, I thought the middle brother was fucking hot, before someone told me he was a.. he.

It seems a lot of girls like "pretty boys", or femine looking guys.
Yaoi is a Japanese manga style of pretty boys expressing their (sometimes only platonic) relationship for each other.
Its a massive industry, and is more about the "ideal male" then anything else. Most yaoi is created by women, for women - it is not created as homosexual erotica, there is even a popular genre Shonen-ai which is generally about Yaoi but school kids (and ususally less explicit), it is very popular with School girls.
You should go to a Anime convention I have been to a Yaoi exhibits and presentations and the girls get SO excited.
So Phake I think if you think the Japanese make characters because they have a fixation on "transexuals" you have missed the point. One could argue they have an obsession on cuteness and that has changed many peoples minds about what an ideal man should be, but you see that a lot in western culture as well.

I know that I certainly don't like girly men, or men who are skinny, which seems to be trendy these days. Wiry men are revolting!

I detest skinny women. I don't get it with this thinness craze; walking skeletons with little flesh on. Very, very stupid. However obesity is just as grotesque, if not more.
Anorexia is the most retarded "disease" ever. An insult to those people dying of "involuntary" hunger.

But it is still a serious disease, you can't be annoyed with people for being affected by society

Well your both wrong and right.
Halis right that Anorexia nervosa is a serious problem and shouldnt just be dismissed.
And whether you call it a "disease" depends on your approach. From an academic position (which I of course from my holier than thou position always prefer) a "disease" is an invasion of an organism by a pathogen. Anorexia like Gambling Addiction are classed as "conditions".
But on the other hand, most people refer to any medical "issue" as a disease these days and even less academic minded professionals like journalists and even your run of the mill GP is starting to refer to them that way.
"Disease" is one of those funny words that has lost it's way. Personally though im with Phake because Pathology is the study of Diseases and DEFINETLY doesnt include conditions, disabilities, syndromes and all the other things that are labeled diseases these days.
