Its when you buy it via steam. Its a stupid attempt to limit piracy.

It is indeed a stupid attempt, when the real pirates will remove all of this anti-piracy crap from it and re-release it, and good old Joe buying the game will be limited and end up not being able to play the game at all by next year!

Yeah my rule of thumb is, I don't buy anything that gives less options then the illegal version.

Its fricken common sense.

I think that's only a problem with the hard copy version, the Steam version will let you transfer licenses around machines from what I hear Cheesy

There are ONLY restrictions to the download version, not retail or 360.
How do you expect a disc to know how many times it has been instaleld onto a computer? Thats right it cant.

Ive seen a few software apps that force you to register online, and download a small patch to make the program work...

still stupid though, i mean, if people want to get it illegally, they will... so i cant really see much point in all this shite... and what about people with internet connections?

Anyone else thought it was too easy ? I played it in Hard and it wasn't even challenging, except for the occasional Big Daddy.

But it's still a very great game, well worth the money.

Thats a shame. I dont like hard games, but if you select "Hard" you should be greeted with something to appease the core gamer.

Any chance your just uber hax?

haha, I wouldn't consider myself a 'pro' gamer, not even a very good gamer.
My theory is since the game was designed for the PC and Xbox and since Xbox has an inferior controller to the mouse and keyboard, for shooters, then the difficulty level of the game might be aimed towards the casual Xbox owner.

The game is probably extremely hard when playing with the Xbox controller. But then again you can plug in a keyboard and a mouse to the Xbox if I'm not mistaken.

Woohoo finally got this lazy pile of code to run on my ancient rig! Don't bother with it unless you have a GF7600 (or better) card.

For the record widescreen is now available in the PC build (if you update it), but the latest patch breaks a thing or two. Most notably textures on NPC's and enemies load a lot slower.. perhaps not an issue if you have a DDR3 equipped chipset, but I hear even 360 users are complaining about it!
