I don't know about that Access.
I still very much enjoy Gears and I have a high opinion of it. But then again, I first played it 2 years ago when it was the tits. When the co-op was next to nothing and the levels were infuriatingly gratifying to pass. And the graphics were the best out.
haha, im surprised I got around playing it this decade. I still havnt got through all the original Alone in the Dark Trilogy yet.
I don't find the realisticness (is that a word) of graphics influence my oppinion, nor do I seem to think "dated" graphics make a game worse. I tend to view a game's art style as a method of expression to enhance a game. Obviously Gears is very visceral. The running through combat was very effective. I liked that you couldnt target while running etc, was all superb.
Im just tired of ex marine, wrongly accused criminals fighting space aliens. Might as well be pulled from "My first video game" books.
