http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060614/ap_on_hi_te/nyc_youth_ring_tone

There's a new ringtone circulating among whippersnappers, so that they can enable their cellphones to ring loudly during class and not have the teachers be able to hear it. It was modulated off a recently devised juvenile-defeaning (high pitch) noise that old people use to ward off the naughty shits.

I've been thinking of trying it myself to see how much damage has been inflicted on my hearing after all these hours of 7-channel films and Call of Duty carnages.

Try it for yourselves

Your hearing deteriorates with age anyway, there's nothing you can do about that. Even if you sat in a box for the rest of your life, your hearing would still deteriorate.

Get over it bitch Tongue

We've got alarms in our garden that are meant to scare foxes away, they detect body heat and then send a soundwave out that will hurt the foxes ears. Unless of course the fox is deaf.

My hearing kind of sucks, and I could only hear it with the volume way up.
But I don't understand how anyone could hear their phone with that.

Also, why not just use the vibrating option?

That was awfull, there's a reason I never went to physics class when they were doing high frequency modulation, it gives me a headache. And yes I can hear it quite fine. :mad
