On a funny note a really hardcore friend of mine quit wow few days ago. He leveled all his 6 lvl 60s to lvl 70 just about a month ago (he's weird and was doing them all simultaniously). His reason: too many chars to level again. I can understand him too. Introduction of another 10 levels while great for the game is really rough for casuals since it completely invalidates anything they do.

You could think of it as episodic gaming ... ppl come back to level up their old toons to maxlvl, or even make new ones, depending on expansion content, then break ... only to pick it up once more in the next "super cool" expansion. Hell, that's what I did, although I haven't broken off this session yet |

Anom, please note that WoW subscription in China costs a lot lot lot less than in EU or US  Mikhail, your friend is insane Alts are nice, that is fine. But all of them play exactly the same content with different spells/skills... not much new to see except for a few class quests. I prefer playing a single char and alts are just for when I have nothing else to do in WoW or at home  |

I tells ya. Tabula Rasa is the next MMOG I want to play. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabula_Rasa_%28game%29Its by Richard Garriott, who created Ultima and basically invented the MMOG genre with Ultima Online. Hes really trying to explore new territory with the genre. Garriott is a good designer, put some trust in him - whatever he makes will be worth playing - even if briefly. |

I've tried the beta for an hour or so, seemed interesting, but only bothered finishing the intro-part since on my comp it was almost playable on super-lowest, but in an area with dozens of other players, it wasn't anymore.
Edit:
Although I'm very curious about how it'll work out in the end, in regards of the theory behind it.
