Out of curiosity.. What flag do you prefer to sail under? Spanish, French, Dutch or English?

I normally just keep playing Dutch, cause, well, cause I'm Dutch, but I started a new career with a French captain now, to see how it works.. The change of scenery is nice, espescially since France has a couple of settlements in the northern parts of the map..

Still in the good ole' game, always the French. Well, occasionally Dutch, but more often than not I am French. Lots of promotions waiting if you just raid the spaniards that way

Well I start with Dutch flag. Only switching flag when I got 10.000 gold on my head by Spaniard..

About the space to shoot canon thing, It can be done to ships  too before u starts attacking it. I did that to the "Ship of The Line". And in my game, that ship was Flag Galleon.

Yes with small ship u can manuver nicely and u can sink big ship if your control is good. But small ship can not bring lots of troops. And gold can be gained much from attacking cities which will be easy if u got huge number of troops.

Until I uninstall the game yesterday, I still wonder about the Treasure ship that carried huge amount of gold bullion that kept being announced by the tavern girl. Anyone got that ship??

Sure, but you're right, it isn't always easy to find, and sometimes, catching up with it is impossible. But just keep on trying.. I've captured many Treasure Fleets now. =D

And yeah, the Spanish are easy targets. So much of them.. =D Although, sometimes a good raiding of an English settlement brings big bucks.
